Together ZiZi and Mommy explore the joys, challenges, and frustrations of transitioning from being a baby to becoming a Big Girl. Potty Training is not a one-size-fits-all process. Besides, everyone experiences it differently. In fact, Potty-Training Day celebrates that space in between where your little one is curious and ready. Also, as a parent, you are eager and scared for what a potty-trained baby really means.

This book by the author is a personal encouragement and celebration of a sometimes frustrating process. Her daughter absolutely LOVES this book and understands potty training in a way that may not have been possible if she didn’t have someone that looked like her (that is her, lol) to keep her motivated. She has practically memorized the entire book at 2 years old!

Told in rhyme with the outstanding illustrations by Brad Myers. We can see the emotional impact of this experience on Ziana’s face. This is a delightful book for all moms of young children to read to their young boy or girl who is about to experience their first time on the potty. Some journeys need to be experienced more than once.”–Fran Lewis, Just Reviews

“Potty-Training Day” is a cute children’s book with fun rhymes, lovely illustrations, and a sweet message that encourages readers of that age not to feel bad if things don’t work out.

The main reason the book is lovely is because of its honesty. It tells children not to feel bad if they don’t get it right the first time but to feel good that they attempted. I liked how the author captured this when Zizi tries to go, but she cannot.

Similarly, the illustrations by Brad Myers add nicely with vibrant colors and cute images. Zizi is adorable, and I enjoyed her expressions in the tale. She doesn’t want to give up the diaper yet and is scared to try something new. The author also makes the story entertaining with catchy rhymes (like “Twinkle, Tinkle”) and engaging dialogues. She also paces the story with simple words that would not confuse the reader.

Overall, “Potty-Training Day” is a lovely book to pick for your young ones and encourage them if they go through the same phase.
