About the Author:

Beck Medina is a two-time youth author, podcast host, and lifestyle blogger residing in Los Angeles, California. Beck published “A Fantastic Mess of Everything” in 2016, followed by “All The Stars On Fire” in 2019. After reading “The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green, and “Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell, Beck was instantly inspired and knew that young adult was the genre for her to thrive.

Beck is passionate about youth author fiction, where she develops stories that reflect her personal life as a woman, LatinX, and mental health advocate residing in the United States. Also, Beck integrates her personal experience, culture, and creative imagination to bring her characters to life and produce page-turning books that excite her audiences.

All The Stars On Fire Review:

“All the Stars on Fire” is a unique story that’s part YA, part superheroes, part futuristic, and turned out to be entertaining.

I liked both Natalia and Alyse in the lead. Even though I felt like the plot focused more on Natalia, I found Alyse fascinating because of her personality and the emotional experiences she faces. But, I also enjoyed Natalia, particularly the way she keeps her secret and manages her love life. Moreover, I loved the family bonding, especially between Natalia and Max. Even though Max only makes a brief appearance, I loved the sibling bond he shared with Natalia.

The author also did a fantastic job with the romance. I liked Natalie’s romantic interests, and it was entertaining to see how Captain Force, Cam, and Boston fit into her world. Similarly, Alyse also has her share of potential partners. The author writes young adult romance very nicely, and I wanted to know how the plot would turn out.

However, I wish the author balanced the plot equally amongst the characters. I loved the story during the first few pages because we had an active storyline for Seven. However, for the most part, the story revolves around the drama between Natalia and Alyse. It is only towards the climax where Seven, Amy, and the villains make an appearance and spice up the story again. I wished we had seen more of Seven in the book. Similarly, I also hoped Prima had her perspective in the chapters because I loved her snarky, straightforward attitude.

Apart from that, I enjoyed reading “All the Stars on Fire,” and I hope the author writes a sequel to the story.
