Again Again Review:
I enjoyed reading “Again Again” because it was different from the usual contemporary young adult novels I usually read. There are moments in life where I always wonder how my life would be different with various ‘what if’ scenarios. This book is the author’s first one, but I loved the multiple emotions she portrays: heartbreak, loss, grief, and hope. Also, I loved the author’s writing style of various scenarios that Adelaide has before her actions.
I liked Adelaide in the lead. At times, I could connect to her emotionally because there was a time when I feel I was in her shoes. I always loved the concept of being in love and immediately putting my heart out there. Looking back, I realize it is probably not the best approach to fall in love and mostly leads to heartbreak. As the story progresses, Adelaide slowly realizes where she is going wrong and how to move ahead.
Moreover, I loved Adelaide’s relationship with Toby. The two of them have a broken relationship, yet they work hard on fixing it, and it was lovely to see them get closer. The author also wrote Adelaide’s romance nicely. I loved Jack and Adelaide together because some of their moments were magical. Similarly, I also enjoyed Adelaide with Oscar. Adelaide had lovely chemistry with whoever she was attracted to, except Mickey Double L. I found Mickey to be toxic and wondered why he always kept coming back.
Overall, “Again Again” is a beautiful young adult novel that would resonate with a person of any age. The book would connect with anyone who is immediately opened their heart and fell in love at first sight.
