An Impossible Promise Review:

Don’t let the cover of the book fool you. As much as I love the gorgeous cover design, I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill romance story when I picked this book. Instead, I got a romance with a twist, time travel, and surprising turns along the way, which made the story memorable.

I have not even read the first book in the series, but I had no trouble reading this as a standalone. It’s also been a while since I read a good time travel story, and I liked how the author incorporated the dual timelines in this book, as Liam spent time in Ireland in 1844.

Liam and Cora spark the pages right from the first chapter. I like how the author made Liam conflicted by pushing Cora towards Finn. Moreover, he wants to change and be better to atone for the sins he had previously committed. Cora is fantastic in supporting him till the very end. Even after reading the book, I could not get enough of them and hope the author continues to write their journey in another book in the series.

Moreover, I thought the author paced the story well with the investigations. Cora and Liam work well at a time as they investigate the murders taking place in Providence Falls. The plot steadily increases, which leads to a thrilling climax. I was surprised when the reveal was done and did not see it coming.

After reading this book, I picked up a copy of the first book from the library and started reading to see how it began. Overall, “An Impossible Promise” is worth reading if you are in the mood for romance, mystery-suspense, and time travel elements!
