A Twisty Psychological Thriller That Keeps You Guessing She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica was my first read from the author, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! This psychological thriller juggles multiple storylines, suspicious characters, and unexpected developments, keeping you guessing about how everything fits together. What Works: One of the book's biggest strengths is that there is never really a dull moment. Meghan has plenty on her plate as she learns more about Caitlin's life and deals with the Beckett family. Meanwhile, a mysterious man appears at the hospital, an attacker is targeting women on the streets, unsettling letters begin arriving for Meghan, and an old friend re-enters Meghan's life while navigating a divorce. At first, these storylines seem unrelated, and I wondered whether they connected or simply complicated Meghan’s life separately. I genuinely didn’t expect the story to unfold that way. Kubica sustains the suspense and makes readers question what to believe.I Kubica does a good job of keeping the suspense alive while making you question what you should believe. The major twist was another highlight for me! I didn't see it coming, and I thought the author executed it effectively. Even the subsequent revelations involving the other storylines caught me off guard, making the overall reading experience even more satisfying. What Falls Short: My only disappointment was the introduction of a few characters who seemed suspicious or important but ultimately didn't contribute as much to the story as I expected. Some of them had the potential to play a more significant role, so I would have liked to see their involvement developed further. I also found the writing somewhat over descriptive at times. While this is simply a matter of personal preference, I felt certain passages could have been more concise without affecting the suspense. Verdict She's Not Sorry is a very enjoyable psychological thriller with plenty of twists, multiple intriguing storylines, and a reveal that genuinely surprised me. Despite a few minor issues, this was a solid first introduction to Mary Kubica, and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. Perfect for: Readers who enjoy twist-filled psychological thrillers, interconnected mysteries, and stories that keep you second-guessing your assumptions.
