Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish Review:
This is a delicious and sweet story that will make you hungry for more.
Firstly, I enjoyed reading this book and really felt hungry after reading the delicious dishes they make. Moreover, the main characters, Hadley and Max make the story magical. Hadley is adorable in the lead. I also loved Max and thought the author wrote him really well. He comes off as snobbish and arrogant in the beginning. But as you continue reading, you see how he is simply misunderstood. Additionally, I loved the backdrop of using gourmet food as a theme for the story. I am a sous-chef at best in the kitchen, but this story inspired me to spend time concocting new dishes. I also enjoyed the equivalent of Master Chef like game-show to pin the main characters against each other.
Another concept which I liked in the story is how the supporting characters are not so friendly. Other than Stuart, few of the prominent characters like Leo and Marshall have their own agendas. It sad, yet interesting to see how people play with others lives to make a profit, or use for their personal reasons. The author made the story very interesting by including this dynamic.
However, the only aspect that stopped me from giving this a 5 star review was Hadley’s feelings for Max. In the beginning, it felt awkward how Hadley gets infatuated with Max even after the horrible way he treats her. I actually loved them together only after getting to know about Max’s past.
But, overall, I loved reading “Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish” and got me interested to read the author’s previous novels.
