About the Author:

Lily Hayden writes chick lit with a kick.

Modern day women want modern day heroines and Lily’s characters want sizzling romance, rewarding careers and equal partnerships, but like all of us, they face many challenges and it isn’t always easy.

A mother to four children, Lily graduated with a degree in Business in her hometown in South Wales and enjoyed a successful career in Financial Services before fulfilling a lifelong ambition to write books.

Her debut novel Butterflies, a heartwarming alternative to the traditional boy-meets-girl story, was released in 2018, reaching readers all over the world and she is the author of five books, including a Young Adult Dystopian novel Project Terra under the alias SJ Woods (because who doesn’t love a bit of action and defeating bad guys every now and again).

Coming Back To You  Review:

This was a very nice book about missed opportunities and second chances, and I liked it.

The author wrote the characters very nicely. The highlight of the story was Emma, and I loved her progression. As we see her grow over the years, you see how her relationship changes towards her friends and family. I also loved Patch as the supporting character. She is an amazing friend to Emma, and I also liked her own storyline about finding her own true love.

Moreover, there are some very memorable moments in the story. One scene that stood out for me was when Ryan makes an impromptu sketch of Emma. I also enjoyed the scenes between Emma and her parents. It was beautiful to see her rekindle her bond with her mother later in the novel. Similarly, the author wrote the story in a very nice manner where we see snippets of Emma’s life over 20 years. Ryan and Emma share an amazing chemistry, and the author did a very nice job of writing their romance.

However, I was frustrated with Ryan as a character. At times, it felt like he was too stubborn and played with Emma’s life by pushing her away. Although we find out the reasons behind his behavior, I still felt he could have just been honest with Emma, instead of running away from her. Also, I somewhat liked Kirsty as the negative character in the beginning of the story, and was hoping she would make an appearance to spice things up later as well. Apart from that, this was a beautiful story.

Overall, this was a very nice contemporary romance with charming characters and I liked it.
