What If? Review:

This is not only a romantic comedy, but just a feel-good humorous, contemporary novel and I loved it!

Firstly, I loved how this book threw me back to the 90s and made me nostalgic of my teen years. It was fun to see Carly follow her dreams and her men during a time where online dating was non-existent. On a side note, I loved all the hit numbers mentioned on the chapter titles.

Carly is the star of the show and I really enjoyed the story because of her. There is never a dull moment because Carly’s life is a whirlwind. There is always something exciting and unexpected happening to her which makes the story feel so fresh. I loved how she lives the moment and goes around the world living her life. Whether Amsterdam or Hong Kong, I enjoyed the various situations she got into. Moreover, she seems to have chemistry with all her men, whether it be Sam or Nick. Also, I loved Kate as the supporting character and loved their friendship.

The author also did a wonderful job in making the story hilarious and emotional. I laughed out loud at the scenes where she gets a makeover, or when the woman faints when the girls set their rules for the trip.
My only minor gripe in the story is show the story alternates between the past and the present. While I always enjoy this format, I would have preferred an indication in the title to say which timeline the chapter was about. At times, I was a bit confused as to which timeline of Carly’s I was reading about.

But, apart from that, this was such a wonderful novel, and I cannot wait to read the new sequel coming soon!
