Further, as clues into the fire emerge, Donovan has to ask himself how she’s connected and how a caller knows details from his own tragic past.

The Wicked Cries Wolf Review:

This was a very nice thriller that keeps you guessing.

Even though it is the third book in the series, I had no trouble following it. But, I do wish I had read the first two books beforehand, because I would have enjoyed this so much more. The author starts the story with a bang, literally, as Meaghan, our lead witnesses an accident. Or was it murder? The author paces the tale beautifully as Meaghan and Donovan try to figure who is targeting them. On a side note, I loved the beautiful naturistic landscape of Alaska where the story takes place. Also Skye is just adorable!

Moreover, I really liked the author’s style of writing.  To enumerate, the author builds the plot in a gradual manner. As Meaghan and Donovan get involved in the plot, the story takes various twists and turns. Meaghan witnesses a murder, finds a body,  then  witnesses her house burnt, while Donovan gets mysterious calls from the perpetrator. Significantly, both the leads stand out in their own way. Moreover, I liked the slow burn relationship and romance between Donovan and Maeghan. It’s a bit clichéd but they are so good together. I also loved Donovan’s relationship with Alexa and the manner of  her involvement in the plot.

Probably my only bit of disappointment  was the end of the story.  On the down side, the climax did not end in a stellar way that I had hoped to. However, there are some shocking twists about the whole conspiracy towards the end that makes it memorable. After reading this story, I definitely want to read the previous two novels.

Overall, a very nicely drawn out thriller to read  and I liked reading it.
