This is the first Rohit Shetty movie I saw, and I honestly thought it was a decent movie. It reminded me of the 80s Bollywood action movies, where the hero fights the bad guys, woos the heroine and saves the day. The movie has all the elements needed for a time-pass Bollywood movie and Simmba delivers all of that. The main highlight of the movie is Ranveer Singh. He has done an amazing job in his role, whether it be his comedic timings or dramatic monologues or action sequences. His expressions are on queue in the movie which makes it very entertaining. There are some catchy and funny dialogues in the first half, and the song remixes add well to the film.

However, the main thing I disliked was the ending. I have not seen Singham, or Singham return, so I didn’t understand what was happening when Ajay Devgan made a special appearance. The movie is also cliched at times where the heroine falls in love with the hero instantly just for the film makers to add some songs and dance sequences in the movie. Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood have done a good job in the movie, but nothing memorable, as Ranveer steals the scenes.

However, Shetty keeps the movie entertaining for the most part. Moreover, I was surprised on how much I enjoyed the second half as much as the first half. Even though the theme of the second half is completely different from the first half, I liked the revenge story-line. Overall, Simmba is a nice time pass movie, which you can go watch without having any high expectations. I found the movie entertaining and rate it 3.5/5 stars.
