Awaken Review:

From Skin Walkers to Necromancers, “Awaken” is the first book in “The Goddess Incarnate” series and a thrilling fantasy!

There is so much happening in this story! The author does not mark a dull moment as we learn something new in each chapter. Moreover, I enjoyed world-building. The author does an excellent job setting up the world of the Strigoi, Moroi, and Nephilim. Similar to Sapphira, we get to know about the world from her eyes.

Sapphira is remarkable in the role. I enjoyed her journey in the story as she tried to figure out her responsibilities. The author also described all the supporting characters wonderfully. A massive cast of characters, like Abhijay, Fallon, Colt, Ari, and Hunter, nicely add to the storyline. Each one of them brought something new. For instance, I liked Sapphira’s complicated friendship with Fallon and the training she does with Hunter. Hunter and Lyra, frankly, were my favorite characters apart from Sapphira.

Although this book is pure fantasy, the author adds a touch to everything. Even if you are not a fan of the genre, you will still enjoy reading it. Some of the memorable moments in the story were when Sapphira encounters Akil and Amin or when she realizes about Raine. The author included many twists and turns, including shocking deaths that I did not anticipate. The author also adds a touch of romance as Sapphira gets attracted to Raine. Raine is a complex character, and I liked how the author portrayed him as he brought an element of mystery to the tale. Similarly, even Hunter added well in Sapphira’s life.

The story ends in a gripping cliffhanger that makes you want to read the next book in the series. Overall, “Awaken” is an exciting fantasy novel!
