In their secret treehouse, nine-year-old Emma and her best friend Chris promised: ‘You and me forever.’
Five years back, Emma left her hometown with her soon-to-be ex-husband, and eight years since the tragedy that taught her and Chris, nothing lasts forever.
Now thirty, Emma is an unemployed nurse living back on her parents’ farm, her life in tatters. Chris, however, is finally healing and making a success of his family’s country estate.
They step into their old friendship as if it were yesterday, but as Emma sets out to rebuild her life, will their past and Chris’s future throw her further off balance?
Or will she find the happiness she left behind by returning to the treehouse?

Meet Me In The Treehouse Review:
It’s refreshing to pick up and read a sweet, contemporary love story that makes you feel nice and warm. The author did an excellent job for a debut novel. Although the concept is not new, she makes the story fresh in her sweet manner of writing.
Emma and Chris are adorable and are the highlight of the plot. I loved their flashbacks to when they spent time in the treehouse. Both Chris and Emma have flaws that make you root for them. Emma is scared to move forward because of her divorce, and Chris still ponders Stephen’s death. Moreover, there are secondary characters like Charlotte and Andy, who spice up the story by complicating Chris and Emma’s relationship. Similarly, Lucy and Jo also add nicely to the plot.
For me, some of the memorable moments in the story revolved around Chris’s accident and Lucy and Flynn’s wedding. The author wrote the book in a charming manner where you feel like you know the characters intimately. Moreover, the story is relatively short and easy to read, and you won’t notice the time fly by once you start. However, the ending felt rushed as a lot happened in the last chapter and the epilogue. I would have liked the book to be more detailed towards the climax, with Chris and Emma’s additional moments.
Overall, “Meet me in the Treehouse” is a beautiful debut, and I look forward to reading more of the author’s books in the future. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I am thrilled to be hosting a spot on the Meet Me In The Treehouse by Kelly Tink Blog Tour hosted by Rachel’s Random Resources.
