Unwrapping The Best Man Review:

“Unwrapping the Best Man” is a fun book to pick up if you are in the mood for a short, steamy romance with a touch of the Christmas holiday spirit.

Jackson was the highlight of the story for me. I was intrigued by his backstory with Eliza. It was refreshing to read about abuse on a male character, as it somewhat broke the gender typecast. Jackson is flawed, vulnerable, and has conflicting emotions over his feelings for Caitlin. Similarly, Caitlin is also charming in her manner. Moreover, Jackson and Caitlin had sweet chemistry. The author also wrote the love scenes in a steamy yet romantic way. Additionally, Ash and Coco were fun in supporting roles.

However, I found the shift in perspectives confusing. The author alternates between Caitlin and Jackson’s perspectives within the chapter, and there is no indication of whose point of view we are reading. Also, as I have not read the previous book in the series, I felt like the author jumped directly into Jackson and Caitlin’s romance. I would have liked to see some buildup of their attraction in the beginning. Lastly, I wished I had seen more of Damien on a side note, as he seemed like a twisted character.

Apart from that, this was a cute and sexy story with likable characters in the lead. Overall, this is a fun, quick read with all the elements you look forward to in a Harlequin book!
