A Cuban Russian American Love Story Review:

“A Cuban Russian American Love Story” is a beautiful piece of literary fiction about what happens when three people’s lives intertwine, and I enjoyed it.

Firstly, I commend the author for the stylish manner in writing it. As I read this book, I imagined how artsy and critically acclaimed it would be if the book turned into a movie. The author does a beautiful job of capturing the main characters’ emotions, the mistakes they make, and the consequences of their actions.

For me, Julian was the star, and I loved his rags to riches storyline. The author toggles the past and the present tale, and I enjoyed the scenes with Oleg and Irina. Similarly, Perla is also fantastic, and I liked how the author portrayed the story from her perspective. I also enjoyed the exciting details the author included about the life of the club. Even the supporting characters like Frankmann, Jade, and Roger added nicely to the mix.

Moreover, there are moments where the author makes you ponder about other topics, like the power of your brain to create multiple realities, which are not hallucinations. There are some shocking twists and turns that are very dramatic and compliment the tale wonderfully.

However, the author also does not shy away from making the story raw. I found a few passages challenging to read, like when Perla talks about what men expect from her. Some scenes were a bit too graphic for my taste, which I felt the author could have avoided.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading “A Cuban Russian American Love Story” and enjoyed the author’s storytelling style. I will surely pick up some of the author’s previous books and give them a try.
