All mothers have secrets. However, some are unforgivable.
Kate Marshall lives an enviable life. Given that her husband, James, is a handsome, charming owner of a successful company, she seems to have it all.
But becoming pregnant at 45 was never part of her plan, especially as Kate’s hiding a deep secret, the one that she’s been running from for twenty years.
So when ex-boyfriend Paul comes back into her life, threatening to expose the truth about what Kate did, the clock is ticking. Can she still keep her secrets and fulfill her dream of becoming a mother – or will her past lies destroy her perfect life?
An unputdownable, complex, and twisty psychological thriller about mothers and daughters – fans of Shalini Boland, Liane Moriarty, and Jane Shemilt will love this gripping read.

A Mother Like You Review:

Secrets, stalking, and suspense makes “A Mother Like You” a captivating read!

Firstly, the author writes the story in a compelling manner that keeps you guessing. The story starts in a gripping way where you wonder what kind of trouble surrounds Kate. She is blackmailed by a person from her past, and is pregnant and hides it from her loved ones.

Moreover, the characters are also well written. The author interestingly wrote Kate. Initially, Kate has an aura of mystery around her, where you want to know what happened in her past. Also, Kate shares excellent chemistry with James. I liked seeing how their relationship has its ups and downs as Kate slowly shares her secrets with him.

Similarly, I also liked Susie and Elizabeth in supporting roles. Moreover, I liked Elizabeth’s storyline with her condition. Even Paul is unpredictable and creepy.

As the story progresses, you see it shift with a few unexpected twists. For instance, you think only one person is targeting Kate. But it turns out there is someone else who wants revenge on her. Some of the scenes were intense and creepy, like the scenes where Kate sees the lipstick’s message. The author keeps you guessing what Kate’s secret is and how many people are after her, and why. I would love to read the author’s previous books because I enjoyed her style of writing.

Overall, “A Mother Like You” was a gripping suspense thriller.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
