Archibald Lox and the Rubicon Dictate Review:
In “Archibald Lox and the Rubicon Dictate,” the author paces the story right from the beginning as we see Archie adjusting to the aftermath of the kidnapping.
I liked Archie in the lead, and I felt the author brought another layer to him in the story. We see fear for his friends from the nightmares her had of Kelwin. In the previous books, I always felt that Archie was going with the flow, taking orders from others, and handling them successfully. However, in this book, you see him take care and help his friends get Hiroto back. Similarly, the supporting characters like Malina, Inez, and Hiroto are also lovely. Even Orlan and Argate surprised me in this story, and I grew to like them a bit.
Moreover, the author’s creativity never ceases to amaze me in the way he constructs the world. In this book, we get to see the world of Ruby, where everything is functional, and there is no imagination or decoration. I love how the author has constructed each gem world uniquely that gives us something to look forward to in each book. I also liked how the author set up the dictate in the story, making them look organized but even more ruthless.
The story also continues with the excitement of the Tourney from the previous book. It was fun reading about the teams and the high adrenaline of who was winning against whom. Some of the other memorable moments in the story were when Archie and Inez were on their mission to see Havel. The author paces the story nicely that leads to an exciting climax, just like the previous books.
Overall, “Archibald Lox and the Rubicon Dictate” is a stunning conclusion to the second volume of the series.
