About the Author:

Gaye admits to a lifelong obsession with crime, and a keen interest in psychology and social history. She credits her parents, who were avid readers, with her love of fiction. When she graduated from Enid Blyton to Agatha Christie at age nine, so began a life of crime… reading.

She enjoyed an award-winning career as a TV Producer/Director working for the BBC, ITV and RTE. She’s always written in her spare time, and during lockdown, when her husband built himself a workshop at the end of the garden, she seized control (peacefully) and renamed it her writing cabin. The result was BLOOD MOTHERS.

Now a full-time writer, she has three adult children and one adorable granddaughter. She lives in Dublin with her husband, to whom she now owes a workshop, two of her grown up kids and two rescue dogs who are not at all grown up, but make for great company at the bottom of the garden.

Blood Mothers Review:

Blood Mothers is an exciting crime thriller fiction novel with multiple storylines that made it stand out in the genre, and I liked it!

The highlight of the tale is how the author told it. On the one hand, we have Kate. On the other hand, we have a flashback story of Rosie and how she gets pregnant, which changes her life. Then, there is a parallel storyline with Billy and a mystery man and the mysterious events that occur with them. The author creatively blends all these plots, and we see how it impacts their life. Rosie’s storyline was my favorite, and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened to her, especially once she met Bernie.

Kate is lovely in the lead as she and her team investigate the serial killer targeting all the women. Initially, you keep guessing what the connection could be, as it seems unrelated. However, I enjoyed how the author connected the characters as the story progressed. I also liked how the author touched on Kate’s personal life, like her relationship with Greg and her workings with Jim on how it impacted the case. The author also adds exciting details of the forensics and crime scenes that touch the plot nicely.

Overall, “Blood Mothers” is an exciting start to the DS Kate Hamilton Crime Thriller series, and I would love to see how it continues!
