    Night of Mysterious Blessings Review:

What I liked about this book is how anyone, whether young or old, can relate to it. We all have sleepless nights worrying about what the next day will bring. There would be situations we would worry about facing, and our mind conjures all the “what-if” scenarios. The author beautifully conveys that as long as you believe in God and trust, He will be by your side, and your mind will find peace.

I enjoyed how the author narrated the story in a rhyme that would capture the young reader’s attention. The illustrations by Courtney Smith also brighten the picture book. Considering the tale takes place at night, I enjoyed how colorful the illustrator made it. My favorite ones were when the boy meets the Sandman or plays with Old Paws. The Sandman looks adorable and would put a smile on the reader’s face.

Moreover, even though this book targets Christian families, anyone from any background would appreciate its value if they believed in a higher power. Overall, “Night of Mysterious Blessings” is a beautiful children’s fiction novel that you can read multiple times whenever you feel anxious and cannot sleep, and the story will give you peace of mind.

“Li Na is my Name” is an adorable children’s book that promotes young readers to be themselves.

I loved the book’s theme and thought the creators executed it beautifully. The story is simple yet tells the reader that it’s okay to be yourself. If you are a tomboy, and even if people comment on you, be yourself! Reading this book, I realized that even as an adult, I recall the snarky comments that some of my friends and family used to make about me when I was growing up. While most of them were harmless, the memories still stuck to me and made me change my behavior growing up. Recalling that, I wonder if I would have had a happier childhood had I had been confident to be myself. The author delivers a solid message not to let anyone else get you down for being different and just be yourself.

Moreover, the author is super talented as she also designed the illustrations. The illustrations are gorgeous, and I adored the color palettes. Each page is vibrant and appealing, which will catch the child’s attention as they read the story. Li Na’s and her friend’s expressions are adorable as they deal with the comments they hear from their friends and family.

I hope the author continues to write more books with these characters, as I can easily see this turning into a series that would motivate young readers. Overall, Li Na is my name” is an adorable children’s book that I feel parents should gift their young ones.

     The triplets get charmed Review:

“The Triplets Get Charmed” is the first book in the “Trillium Sisters” series and was adorable.

The series, in general, is the perfect middle-grade chapter book to get young readers to read. The story comprises three charming sisters, Emmy, Giselle, and Clare, and how they discover their newfound powers. I liked how the author portrayed all the three characters and the bond they share. There’s friendship, magic, family bond, cute animals, and an exciting story that would keep the readers engaged. Moreover, I enjoyed the concept of mini-mals and how they use their charms creatively as jewelry. There is never a dull moment in the story as the three girls always find themselves busy with activity.

Moreover, I liked the smaller moments of how the girls think about the good parts and try to be positive, even if things didn’t work out the way they planned. The second half of the book is the highlight once we find Zee in the railing, and hard to put the book down.

Similarly, the illustrations are beautiful and complement the book so well. I particularly loved the pictures in the second half, where all the adventure takes place around Zee. Sarah Mensinga did an excellent job with the illustrations, and I loved how expressive the characters are in the drawings.

Perhaps the only downside to the story is how there is no background as to why they have these powers. There is quite a lot in this short book, but I guess we have to wait for future novels in the series to find out why it does.

Overall, “The Triplets get Charmed” is a lovely start to the series and would be a great addition to a middle-graders book collection.

So Chirpy sneaks onto the bus one morning, hides in the classroom . . . and discovers a true love of math. When she shares what she’s learned with the other chickens, they think she’s one kernel short of a cob.

Even so, Chirpy decides to find a formula for fowl success by pecking away. But when a hungry fox tries to attack the coop, can she find the equation for a simple solution?

    Hide and Go Beak Review:

“Hide and Go Beak” is an adorable children’s book that will make the reader fall in love with math, science, and chickens.

Let me begin by saying how much I loved the concept of the story. The author beautifully highlights how what we learn in school can be applied in real life. Although Physics concepts like the wheel and axle, levers, and pulleys might seem tedious, the author creatively illustrates how these principles help the characters with their mission in the tale. Some moments also made me laugh, like with Clucky and the bird wire or when Chirpy’s feathers fall in the soup.

Also, the characters are all adorable. I loved Chirpy and her curiosity to learn about the school and why kids like Andy and Randy loved to go there. Even the supporting characters of the coop like Buck Buck, Squawky, and Clucky were hilarious and stood out.

The book also feels interactive as we get a DIY activity to make our machine using Chirpy’s skills. I thought this brilliant idea encouraged kids to get interested in science with hands-on experience.

Moreover, the illustrations by Charlie Alder are whimsical and funny. I loved the color palette of yellow and grey and felt the drawings eye-pleasing and entertaining.

Perhaps the only minor criticism I have of the tale feels a bit long for the target audience. The book is pretty big for a child to read, with many things happening. Perhaps it would have been nice had the author split the story into two books or shortened it.

Overall, “Hide and Go Beak” is a beautiful children’s book that encourages readers to learn, and I can see it span as a series with many stories.

Princess Monroe & Her Happily Ever After Review:

“Princess Monroe & Her Happily Ever After” is a beautiful children’s novel that tells young readers to dream big!

Firstly, I commend the author for writing such a sweet and inspiring children’s book. I loved the concept of the story, and I feel it would resonate even with adults. From children to adults, we are told by family and society what path to take and what to do. While we have responsibilities to perform, the book emphasizes that it is never too late to dream big and follow your dreams.

In this book, Princess Monroe has to act like a prim and proper princess, look pretty, and wait for Prince Charming. However, she longs for adventure and has many interests that she likes to test. From rock climbing to sustainable farming, Roe wants to try it all! I adored her curiosity and eagerness to step out of her comfort zone. Moreover, I loved her relationship with her mother, The Queen. The two of them talk like friends, and I loved how encouraging the mother was towards her.

Furthermore, the illustrations by Glynise Martin were gorgeous. The colors contrast beautifully and make the story stand out. I particularly loved Roe’s expressions as she imagined being a pirate or a pet doctor. I hope the author and the illustrator branch this into a series because I would love to read more about Princess Monroe and what happens to her.

Overall, “Princess Monroe & Her Happily Ever After” is a splendid children’s book that children will enjoy reading for the colorful drawings and inspire adults.

Bats, Bandits & Buggies by Nancy Oswald Review:

“Bats, Bandits & Buggies” is a delightful middle-grade book with adventure, mystery, and adorable characters.

When I started reading this book, I didn’t think I would enjoy it so much. I have not read any of the previous “Ruby and Maude” adventure stories, but I will indeed check them out now. The author narrates the tale so beautifully that I reminisced about the old Enid Blyton mystery adventures I read growing up. The author also adds complex words to build your vocabulary for a middle-grade novel. I didn’t even know about Promissory notes until I read this book! It is also clear that the author researched quite a lot about Colorado Springs and tries to include an accurate timeline in this tale. The story is so adorable that it makes me want to travel all the way there to visit the donkey pasture.

Ruby is adorable in the lead. I loved how the author made her emotional to Maude’s feelings, like when she feels terrible for mistreating him. Made and Willy are so cute, and I liked how the author wrote them with personality. Moreover, I thought the author wrote Ruby’s friend with Roy well, especially when she faces the predicament involving him.

The author also writes the mystery adventure nicely, when Ruby notices the strange black disappearing in the vast house. As the story progresses, Ruby finds herself in a mystery that could risk her life in danger, as she encounters bandits, crimes, and maybe even a vampire. The climax is thrilling and entertaining and makes the story memorable.

Overall, “Bats, Bandits & Buggies” is a beautiful middle-grade mystery historical adventure that makes you feel like you are reading a classic.

    Creature Cat Tales Review:

“Creature Cat Tales” is a cute selection of short stories about cats overcoming their challenges and was a delightful book to read.

This book is perfect for kids who want to boost their self-confidence and learn about good morals and values. I loved the way the author narrated the story through poetry with lovely rhymes. Kids could sing this as a song while they are reading to keep themselves entertained.

Moreover, the author is creative with the variety of cats we see in the book. We have Bat-cat, Franken-cats, Spider-cats, Mercat, medusa-cat, to name a few. Each character in a chapter goes through a problem that they find out how to solve and shine! Some stories are about helping others even if they are not friendly to you, overcoming your fears, learning to say no, and trying your best to succeed at something. Each story shines with positivity and optimism, which would motivate even adults as they read this to their children. My personal favorites were Blake, Mary, Manny, and Marley.

Also, the book features adorable illustrations in each chapter that would hold the young reader’s attention. I loved how some of the images brought the characters to life and felt it added a nice touch to the book. The only recommendation for the book is if the author included a table of contents provided, so we know which page to quickly go-to for a story, rather than searching for it. I received a complimentary PDF copy as part of the tour, and I did not find it in the version I read.

Overall, “Creature Cat Tales” is a fun collection of short stories that I highly recommend you get for your children.

Twin Tales: Alike and Different Review:

“Twin Tales: Alike and Different” is an adorable children’s picture about twins, written by twins.

This is a great picture book to show your kids, whether they are twins or not. It gives a nice message about how everyone is unique and has a distinctive personality, even if they look alike.

Alexia and Denise are identical twins that people usually get confused about because they look alike. However, while both like to enjoy and have fun with their grandparents, they have striking contrast in their interests. Alexia is the more adventurous, risk-taking girl, whereas Denise is the cautious and clean one. Both of them light up the pages with their antics and activities. Reading this book made me curious if the authors also resemble the characters in real life. The tale feels personal like they drew on their own experiences and made the story entertaining.

Moreover, the illustrations by Folksnfables are beautiful. The images are simple but so cute and creative that they will immediately capture the attention of the young one. The colors are also easy on the eyes and bring out the characters in the pages. I particularly loved the drawings when they are both having tea or visiting their grandparents.

Frankly, I hope the authors turn this into a book series because Alexia and Denise are charming, and I can picture them in many different adventures and situations. I would also like to see them interact with other friends and family members. Overall, “Twin Tales: Alike and Different” is a beautiful picture book to read to small children.

Only My Dog Knows I Pick My Nose Review:

What an adorable picture book “Only My Dog Knows I Pick My Nose” was. It is a beautiful book that shows the relationship between a boy and his dog.

Firstly, I must say I enjoy how the team came up with the title. It sounds pretty gross, but something that would appeal to small children and find it funny. However, even though the title would make you think that it is a book about nose picking and boogers, it isn’t. It’s just one page in the entire story. Instead, the creators came up with a beautiful tale about how the main character and his dog share a strong bond. We all yearn to have that one person that we can be ourselves without behaving so that people expect us to adhere. In this book, the boy has that with his dog. He can be his true self with the dog because the dog will always support and protect him no matter what.

Moreover, the illustrations by Lisa Bronson Mezoff are adorable. It’s simple illustrations, but it conveys the message beautifully. The illustrator focuses mainly on blues and greens, and I adored the artist’s expressions on the characters. Some of my favorite pictures were where the boy sings holding the toothbrush or when he goes on imaginary adventures with his companion. The book beautifully conveys the message that you can always be yourself when you are in the company of loved ones.

Overall, “Only My Dog Knows I Pick My Nose” is a nicely executed picture book that will surely appeal to the target readers.

    My Cat Is Blue Review:

What an adorable children’s story “My Cat Is Blue” was to read. This book is one that I feel would resonate with a reader of any age.

The author deals with various issues like loss, depression and coping, and moving on. We see how a young girl worries for her cat, who doesn’t feel like doing anything anymore. Many of us also go through a phase where we lose a loved one. W cannot focus on anything at some point and find it difficult to move on. It takes a while for all of us to accept and get back to normal. The author realistically depicts how this would affect any species. I loved how gradual the story felt and thought it was important for children to be aware.

Moreover, I loved the contrasting colors the illustrator used to depict the characters’ moods and the surroundings. Initially, only the cat is blue because of the way it feels. But, you see how the girl also turns a shade of blue because of her worry over the cat. As the story progresses, you realize how the colors become vibrant and shift based on the characters’ moods. Bulankina Ka did a fabulous job selecting lovely tones and striking colors to make the story stand out. Also, the expressions of the girl and the cat are SO adorable that you fall in love with them instantly.

Overall, I loved reading “My Cat Is Blue,” and I hope the team continues to publish many more such stories because they have an impeccable talent for it.
