    New vision 7 Parallels Review:

Imagine a World where you changed the events, so there is no racism, religion, and authority, and people live in peace and tolerance. I enjoyed how creative this book is for the science fiction genre. The author somehow takes the significant events of the world that shaped the last few centuries and conjures a ‘what-if’ scenario of altered reality and time travel. The story made it feel out of the box, unlike anything I had read earlier. It was fun to witness prominent figures from the past and present come together to make the world good again. For instance, I never thought I would read about Stephen Hawking, Abe Lincoln, and Albert Einstein coming together to stop a catastrophic event from taking place, and all this made the plot engaging.

Moreover, this is a story that is surprisingly very plot-centric. The author has spent a lot of time researching and bringing such a large cast of characters to the pages; it sometimes feels larger than life. For example, the author details the test subjects and the specific events to target, and the group holding regular seminars and meetings with progress with such information, you feel as though the events have transpired and you are reading a detailed timeline of what happened.

Perhaps the only downside is that since there are no critical characters, I found it odd that I couldn’t root emotionally or gravitate toward any of them.

However, the story is grand and wonderful, and I applaud the author for executing it wonderfully. Overall, “New Visions: 7 Parallels by Jessica Lorenzi Conti is an enjoyable, futuristic time travel experience that will make you ponder and wonder.

    Dragon Legend Review:

“Dragon Legend” turned out to be an exciting continuation to “Dragon Mountain” and had me at the edge of my seat.

Firstly, I love how creative the authors get with the concept. The book mainly revolves around the group’s journey to find Dylan and later continues with their quest. The authors show us how vast the Dragon Realm is and make the story different from the first book while maintaining the characters’ charm. I loved Billy and Spark’s bond in this story!

The characters shine, and one person that particularly surprised me was JJ. JJ was prominent in this story, and I was surprised by how my feelings for him changed over the course. Moreover, I also enjoyed how the Dragon of Death appears in this tale, and the authors add elements of suspense, betrayal, and revenge to the fantasy adventure.

Again, the book is not short on the mystical creatures, like the flying pig, scorpions, and the snarky fish we encounter. Some of my favorite moments were when they dealt with the Dragon Egg or when something shocking happened to Charlotte. Similar to the first book, each chapter here compiles of adventure, and you won’t even notice the time going by. Moreover, the authors also added a time travel element to this story which I thought blended nicely.

And finally, the climax was terrific! I couldn’t put the book down the shocking cliffhangers, and all the action and adventure glued me to the pages. I cannot wait to read the third book to see how the story would continue because it went on a completely different tangent that I didn’t expect, but I liked it!

    The Button Box Review:

“The Button Box” is a delightful middle-grade novel that touches on fantasy, time travel, and historical aspects, and I learned a lot from it.

Firstly, I appreciate the author adding so many rich details about Jewish culture and the Arabic Languages. I had no idea about Sephardic Jew or the Kufic language until I read this book. It’s always a pleasure to learn while reading a compelling story, and I learned some words like Bismillah and Sabtah.

Secondly, I adored the characters, Ava and her cousin Nadeen go on a beautiful journey when they go through their Grandma Buena’s button box. Ava is adorable in the lead, and I enjoyed how she adapted to the situation. The author beautifully adds a touch of mystery with the humming button, and I loved the time travel aspect as Ava and Nadeem get transported into another era. The story takes full swing when Ava meets Ester and their friendship over their journey.

Thirdly, I enjoyed how the author depicted the historical landmarks and events in the story. It was fun to see Ava’s reaction when she first sees the Jewish Quarter, so she learns the significance of Saffron or how their prayers have not changed over the years. I also liked how the author immersed the mystery of Abdur Rahman as the prince in the story and provided a backdrop of him in real life. Moreover, we also learned about the Jewish culture in Spain, and I loved how the author brought everything together.

Overall, “The Button Box” is a beautiful, breezy, fun, and effective middle-grade novel that a reader of any age would enjoy and learn.

She Wouldn’t Change A Thing Review:

As soon as I started reading the story, the plot immediately drew my attention because it felt unique. When you read the book’s blurb, you think it is some time travel story. While, in some ways, it is, this book is so much more. The author keeps you on your toes as she introduces new characters with different storylines, and you wonder how they will connect in the end. Initially, I was glued to Maria’s storyline as she deals with Sylvia, John, and Shelby. However, the author also introduces us to Jenny and Hank, who seem to have their storyline, and you wonder how it all connects to what Maria experiences.

Moreover, the author also progresses the story nicely into various parts. I loved the second part of the book and was hanging on to Maria’s story. While it may not be intentional, I enjoyed some humorous features, such as when Maria initially finds herself talking to her mother and wondering about AP classes. Maria is great in the lead as she goes on this second chances, trust, and forgiveness journey. Before she witnessed the incident, I liked how the author portrayed her thoughts about her patients, like Sylvia. I honestly did not know how the story would turn out, especially during the scenes with Maria and Henry.

Perhaps the only minor criticism of the story is how it got a little convoluted towards the end. There is so much happening so fast that I had to read each page carefully to avoid missing something important. However, I enjoyed how the story wrapped up and was one of those books that I kept thinking of post-reading.

Overall, “She Wouldn’t Change a Thing” would blow your mind for its unique concept, and I enjoyed it a lot!

    The Fortuna Coin Review:

“The Fortuna Coin” is a fantastic story filled with time travel, intrigue, suspense, and romance that made a genuinely entertaining read.

When the story first started, I had no idea what was happening. Wendy seems to be having the time of her life as she marries Ben, but her world goes for a toss when Josh enters the picture. The author designed the plot so creatively that we initially get to know the end and then flashback to the events leading to the end. Similarly, I was fascinated with the magic of the coin and wondered how it would protect Wendy. Also, I liked how the author toggled the story between Wendy and Ben’s perspective, and it was interesting to see how the two found their way to each other.

Moreover, the author also wrote Wendy’s character dynamically. I liked the sense of deja vu she feels as she goes back in time and relives the moments, especially when she meets Josh. Frankly, as much as I disliked Josh, he made the story what it is. He sets the tale’s suspense, and I was intrigued to see if Wendy would do the same thing as she did the last time or change her course of action. On a side note, I also liked Julia ass comic relief when she showed up as Wendy’s friend.

The author also does not disappoint with the romance. I felt the instant chemistry as soon as Wendy meets Been and how they are both history buffs. Other memorable moments include Wendy meeting Olivia, giving the Fortuna Coin back to her father, or finding out she’s pregnant.

Overall, I adored reading “The Fortuna Coin” and found it a captivating story!

He hoped for a wife. He found a companion through time and beyond.

It is 1715 and for Duncan Melville something fundamental is missing from his life. Despite a flourishing legal practice and several close friends, he is lonely, even more so after the recent death of his father. He needs a wife—a companion through life, someone to hold and be held by. What he wasn’t expecting was to be torn away from everything he knew and find said woman in 2016…

Erin Barnes has a lot of stuff going on in her life. She doesn’t need the additional twist of a stranger in weird outdated clothes, but when he risks his life to save hers, she feels obligated to return the favour. Besides, whoever Duncan may be, she can’t exactly deny the immediate attraction.

The complications in Erin’s life explode. Events are set in motion and to Erin’s horror she and Duncan are thrown back to 1715. Not only does Erin have to cope with a different and intimidating world, soon enough she and Duncan are embroiled in a dangerous quest for Duncan’s uncle, a quest that may very well cost them their lives as they travel through a Scotland poised on the brink of rebellion.

Will they find Duncan’s uncle in time? And is the door to the future permanently closed, or will Erin find a way back?

    About the Author:

Left to her choice, Anna would have become a time-traveller. As this was impossible, she became a financial professional with two absorbing interests: history and writing. Anna has authored the acclaimed time travelling series The Graham Saga, set in 17th century Scotland and Maryland, as well as the equally acclaimed medieval series The King’s Greatest Enemy which is set in 14th century England.

More recently, Anna has published The Wanderer, a fast-paced contemporary romantic suspense trilogy with paranormal and time-slip ingredients. While she loved stepping out of her comfort zone (and will likely do so again ) she loves to go back in medieval times in her September 2020 release, His Castilian Hawk. Set against the complications of Edward I’s invasion of Wales, His Castilian Hawk is a story of loyalty, integrity—and love.

    The Whirlpools of Time Review:

I have not read any of the author’s previous books of the “Graham saga” series, but that did not stop me from enjoying the story. It’s been a while since I read a good time travel story, and the author does an excellent job adapting to this charming historical romance.

The author adds a touch of everything from action and adventure to steamy romance and drama. Right from the beginning, I enjoyed the chemistry between Duncan and Erin. On a side note, I also liked the references to the King George timeline and felt the author made the backdrop as authentic as possible. The author also wrote the villains nicely in the story, like the dastardly Cruikshank. I also enjoyed Arabella and Williams as the supporting cast as the group goes on their journey.

Duncan was my favorite character, and I loved how the author added various layers to him. Duncan tries to do his best, even if he messes up at times. Some of the memorable moments are when Duncan experiences the new world, like being in a car or finding out that women can work. I also loved how Erin adapts to her new surroundings. The author spins the story in such a manner that you cannot predict what would happen.

Moreover, the author does not disappoint in the romance department. Considering that this is a historical romance, the author steams up the pages when we see Erin and Duncan get together. The author also ends the story in a cliffhanger that makes you look forward to reading the next installment.

Overall, I enjoyed reading “The Whirlpools of Time” and am excited to see how the story continues.

To save him, Ethan must conquer time and space and embrace an unlikely destiny. But as he plays the part that seems to have been written for him, Ethan is swept up in his grandfather’s secret but not-so-distant past . . . and discovers that he has wrapped up his own future in it.

And when he runs out of his lines, Ethan must choose between becoming the hero he was born to be or losing his grandfather forever. A graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Business Administration, Keith spent his first career managing businesses and distressed corporations. His second career began at Amazon, where he started at the bottom, ensuring we all get the packages we need. He now manages 100 Amazon associates, and every day he still keeps an eye out for the latest novels coming through the building.

At eighteen, he wrote his first short story. It was a murder mystery only thirteen pages long. On Christmas morning, before anyone had the first cup of coffee, his family noticed that the presents under the tree were gone, and in their place were three manila envelopes. Merry Christmas! You must solve the mystery to find the gifts! It was this short story that led to a lifelong love of writing.

Keith currently lives in Texas with his wife, a dog who thinks she is a princess, a horse who knows she is a princess, and a rescue cat who is little more than a source of allergies. There is talk of chickens in his future, but every time he starts to build the coop, a critical tool goes missing. He always blames the cat..

    The Accidental World Review:

When I started reading “The Accidental World,” I did not expect what a wondrous journey it would be.

The story starts in a simple manner where Ethan is waiting for his Pops. But suddenly, Ethan finds himself in a new world at another time. As the story progresses, we begin to realize just how vast the world of NHHMM is and how Ethan has to get used to his new life to find his Pops. The author wrote Ethan’s expressions nicely, and I felt like I was beside Ethan as he adjusted to the new world of NHHMM. Moreover, I enjoyed the adventures when Ethan and his friends participate in the events. The author also wrote the history of NHHMM well, and I liked reading about the rebellion and Civil War when Ethan reads the books. The story ends with a thrilling climax as Ethan and his friends have to participate in a Tournament and face hurdles to save his Pop’s life.

Speaking of games, I also liked how the author focused on Conquest (the Game in the book) as a central plot of the story. The scenes where Ethan has to play with his contenders were some of the highlights of the book. It’s interesting how the author got me so engrossed in the Game, which is entirely fictional. Moreover, Ethan is dynamic in the role. I enjoyed his friendship with Flynn and his complex interactions with Daniel and Miles. The story also ends in a cliffhanger that makes you look forward to the next book in the series.

Overall, “The Accidental World” is a gripping steampunk, time travel adventure targeted at young adults, and it was unique and exciting.

Don’t miss the explosive conclusion to the Flames of Time trilogy.

Ava Flynn walked through flames to erase the past and bring her little brother, Josh, back from the dead. But the reboot doesn’t come without strings. While navigating her new reality, Ava must avoid Maddox… without fracturing the timeline. If she fails, she may never find Laith again.

With her own heart at stake, Ava scours time for the key to unraveling the curse binding her soul to both Laith’s and Maddox’s. One brother is the love of her life. And the other… Not even death will stop him from keeping them apart.

As Ava’s present collides with the brothers’ pasts, she discovers that breaking the curse might have unintended consequences. And this time, her soul isn’t the only one on the line.

    About the Author:

After walking away from her career as a business banker to pursue writing full-time, Erica moved from the hustle and bustle of the big city to a small tourist town in the North Georgia Mountains where she lives in a 90-year-old haunted farmhouse with her workaholic husband, her 180lb lap dog, and at least one ghost.

When she’s not busy writing or tending to her collection of crazy chickens, diabolical ducks, and a quintet of piglets, hell bent on having her for dinner, she’s either reading bad fan fiction or singing karaoke in the local pub. Much like the characters in her books, Erica is a magnet for disaster, and has been known to trip on air while walking across flat surfaces.

How she’s managed to survive this long is one of life’s great mysteries.

    Shattered Souls Review:

“Shattered Souls” is a stunning conclusion to the Flames of Time series, and it did not disappoint.

If you could relive the past and alter it, what changes would you make? I loved the concept of the story where Ava goes back in time and has to re-enact what happened in “Splintered Souls” to make sure that the same events don’t transpire. The story was so entertaining to read, especially if you have read this series in order. While some may think that the plot is repetitious, it honestly isn’t as it goes back to the first book. We see how Ava acts differently to the exact situations knowing how the outcome would be.

Moreover, Ava is lovely in the role as she tries to figure out how to prevent Maddox and Laith from hurting each other. I loved her interaction with Sam in the story and felt like the two of them got closer. The author also adds some exciting plots like Laith being stuck with pirates or Sam trying to time-travel with Ava. Also, some of the scenes are also intriguing, like when Ava goes to see Betty. It was entertaining seeing quite a few characters from the first book, like Paige and Abercrombie, who I missed in the second book. The author paces the story very nicely, which leads to a stunning yet bittersweet climax. The author wrote the entire series so creatively that it made me want to go back and re-read specific passages. I never noticed the time fly by when I was reading this book.

Overall, “Flames of Time” is an excellent guilty-pleasure series that’s perfect for picking up if you love YA fantasy with time travel elements, and “Shattered Souls” concludes it wonderfully.

    Scattered Souls Review:

“Scattered Souls” was so much better than the first book, and I loved reading it.

Firstly, I have to commend the author’s creative story-telling because I loved how she incorporated time-travel with the YA elements to make the book so addictive. The author tortured me as a reader because I got torn between Laith and Maddox. I thought Ava fit well with them both and went crazy when she got feelings for Laith after missing Maddox. Even though the author uses quite a bit of ‘instant love, which I am not too fond of, I would make an exception because the storyline was thoroughly entertaining.

Moreover, there is a lot of time traveling as Ava goes back to 1920 and meets her father. Speaking of which, I was also fascinating (and a bit disgusted) to read the scenes between Ava and her father. On a side note, I also enjoyed the references to famous people during the time, like how Ava meets Al Capone. Ava is excellent in the lead as she tries to figure out how she can end the curse before Maddox and Laith tear each other apart. I also enjoyed Jane and Josh in the supporting roles.

Furthermore, the climax is fantastic! I’m not going to spoil her, but it’s a very innovative ending and one which I never read in any other young adult fantasy. It immediately made me want to pick up the next book in the series to see how it continues.

Overall, “Scattered Souls” is a beautiful continuation to the “Flames of Time” series, and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

    Splintered Souls Review:

It’s been so long since I read a good YA paranormal romance novel which made me invested in the plot, and I thought “Splintered Souls” was a great start to the series!

To begin with, I liked the way the author told the story. It was interesting to see the flashbacks between the past and the present and how the two storylines interconnected. The storyline from the 1600s gave the book a haunted, gothic feel as Lady Catherine does something that changes her life. The present storyline was also eerie, romantic, and mysterious as Ava moves in and sees the mystery guy. There are quite a few twists and turns that I did not expect, which added nicely to the plot. But there is much more to the story than your usual young adult fantasy with paranormal entities. You have time travel, mistaken identities, centuries-old curses, and so much more.

Moreover, I liked all the three main characters. I loved the triangle between Ava, Maddox, and Laith, and it was interesting to see how Ava toggles between the two. My favorite character was Laith because I thought he was very complex. Initially, he comes off as a negative character. However, as the story progressed, you realize that there are reasons behind his actions, making you see him differently. Similarly, I adored Josh and thought made the story lighthearted with humor.

The author also ends the story in a gripping cliffhanger that makes you want to pick the next book to see how the story continues. Overall, I thought “Splintered Souls” was a lovely start to the series, and curious to see how it continues.
