Death is one thing, it’s what you do afterward that matters.

Aspiring-comedian Raely is the sole survivor of a disastrous train wreck. While faced with the intense grief of losing her best friend, she realizes that someone is following her—and has been following her all her life. Trouble is, no one else can see him. For a ghostly tag-along, Casper’s not so bad. He might even be the partner Raely needs to fight the evil spirit hell-bent on destroying her.

Raely and her friend must learn why this demonic spirit is haunting Raely and how she can stop him before he destroys her life—and her soul. Which, much to her chagrin, means she needs the help of a psychic (although she’s sure they are all charlatans) and must rid herself of the pesky ghost hunter who’s interested in exploiting her new abilities.

About the Author:

Meredith grew up in New Orleans, collecting two degrees from Louisiana State University before running away to Chicago to be an actor. In between plays, she got her black belt and made martial arts and yoga her full-time day job. She fought in the Chicago Golden Gloves, ran the Chicago Marathon, and competed for team U.S.A. in the savate world championships in Paris. In spite of doing each of these things twice, she couldn’t stay warm and relocated to Nashville. She owns several swords, but lives a non-violent life, saving all swashbuckling for the page, knitting scarves, gardening, visiting coffee shops, and cuddling with her husband and two panther-sized cats. Ghost Tamer is her first novel.

Ghost Tamer Review:

I always enjoy delving into a well-crafted ghost story, and “Ghost Tamer” truly delivered with its skillful balance of eerie and emotional moments. The author did a commendable job of drawing me into the narrative, right from the start, with Joe and Raely’s encounter with that shocking event – leaving me wondering how Raely managed to survive. The atmospheric setup was engaging, leaving me curious about the unique experiences awaiting Raely and whether they would lead to something positive.

Moreover, the author portrays the character and her emotional turmoil exceptionally well. From her heartfelt attendance at the funeral to the intense moments with the menacing Jimani, I found myself deeply invested in her journey. I couldn’t help but adore the relationship between Raely and Casper. The name “Casper” itself evoked a smile reminiscent of the friendly ghost, and their dynamic was a delightful blend of protectiveness and the usual ups and downs of any compelling connection.

Even the supporting cast left an impression. Lovonia’s aura of mystery as the psychic who enters Raely’s life intrigued me, and characters like Dylan added that touch of annoyance as the quintessential creep. Some unforgettable moments were the escalating strength of Jimani, Raely’s first encounter with Lovonia, and the shocking incident at the comedy club involving Luck.

One of the highlights for me was how the author skillfully weaved the characters’ backstories, connecting them in a way that gradually revealed the reasons behind Raely’s peculiar encounters. On a side note, the subtle touch of science fiction further sets the story apart, adding to its allure.

In conclusion, “Ghost Tamer” is a captivating ghost story I wholeheartedly recommend, especially for those seeking a thrilling and emotionally resonant read.
