A pair of frenemies navigates the shallow depths of a small-town dating scene only to find the romance they need is right in front of them.

Former ballerina Marlo Jonas has all the right moves—except when it comes to men. Her latest boyfriend? A cheater. In the wake of her breakup, her father has a novel idea for her: try dating men for who they are and not how they look. This makes it easy to ignore her hot nemesis, Seattle Times reporter Ben Wexler-Lowrey.

Ben’s take on romance means spending time with interesting women whose personalities might sparkle more than their looks dazzle. But Ben’s mother thinks he can fare better. He’s never tried online dating before, but what could be the harm in putting himself out there?

As Marlo and Ben both suffer through a series of hilariously awkward dates, they’re left feeling empty. Marlo needs someone empathetic enough to soothe her past hurt. Ben needs someone who truly sees him for the man he is.

These enemies love to loathe one another; could that mean Marlo and Ben are foes in love?

Good Catch Review:

I read the first book of the series “Sweet Bliss” earlier this year, but I think the author outdid herself in “Good Catch” cos it was so adorable.

I love how the author wrote romance and enjoyed coming back to Harpers Landing. If I had to pick a book (or series) to recommend for a good contemporary romance, I would choose this book as one of them. Marlo and Ben are just so cute together. While some parts of the book are cliched, the author writes their dynamic so charmingly that you cannot help but stick to them. But wait! The author also adds a twist where we see pretty nice chemistry between Ben and Dahlia, who also happens to be close to Marlo. We also have the unpredictable Brittany, who sets on making Ben’s life miserable after he broke up with her, and I liked the baguette scene.

Moreover, very few books make me laugh out loud in a romance novel, but I found myself consistently chuckling at the humor the author adds. For instance, the flashback Marlo remembers from the school where Ben embarrassed her by burping was hilarious. Similarly, I also liked the disasters that Marlo endures when she dates guys like Hunter and Simon.

The author also did a lovely job of describing Harpers Landing so blissfully. I enjoyed reading about Ben’s role as a reporter and being an enthusiastic bicyclist. The author writes the story so nicely that it makes you feel like moving to such an idyllic place.

Overall, I hope we get more books in the series because I loved reading “Good Catch” and found it a charming addition.
