Mayhem in the Mountains Review:

“Mayhem in the Mountains” is an utterly absorbing mystery that effortlessly holds readers captive with its intricate plot twists, compelling characters, and intriguing motivations.

As a dedicated follower of this series since its inception, I’m consistently impressed by the author’s skill in seamlessly integrating historical figures into the fictional narrative. Notably, characters like Marie Marvingt, Anna Kuliscioff, and even Benito Mussolini appear, adding depth and authenticity to the story. Against the backdrop of snowstorms, avalanches, and shocking acts of murder, Fiona once again embarks on a thrilling quest, ensnaring readers in suspense.

The story brims with moments of palpable tension between characters, interwoven with captivating details that enrich the mystery. Fiona’s adeptness at navigating her suspicions and confronting the challenges presented by the confined hotel setting is a standout element. Her meticulous examination of the crime scene, collection of evidence, and pursuit of the culprit’s identity contribute to the story’s allure.

The author expertly builds suspense through vivid descriptions, character dynamics, and the gradual unfolding of the investigation. The sense of isolation created by the snowbound backdrop adds an extra layer of mystery and heightens the narrative’s urgency.

While the story excels in multiple aspects, a minor yearning emerges to explore Fiona and Archie’s budding romance further. Although Archie’s presence becomes more pronounced in the latter part of the book, there’s a desire to witness a deeper exploration of their emotional connection. The author seamlessly blends emotional depth, romantic tension, and gripping intrigue as Fiona and Archie grapple with their feelings and the concealed truths around them, leaving readers eager for more of these captivating dynamics.
