Other People’s Things Review:
“Other People’s Things” would be unlike any other contemporary story you would have read because of its unique plot, and I enjoyed reading it.
When I started reading this book, I didn’t know what to expect. The author writes the tale from the perspective of three characters, and you wonder how they all connect. While Hawk and Nicole’s storyline collided pretty quickly, I was intrigued by Andrea. Out of all the characters, I think Andrea was the one who interested me the most. Andrea suffers from anxiety, and I was intrigued by how Tag connected with Nicole’s storyline. The author also adds some snarky humor to the tale, and I found myself laughing at the terrible manner in which Andrea treats Nicole when she takes care of her.
Moreover, I enjoyed this story because of the direction in which the author took it. You never know what will happen with these characters and how a person like Kent would lash back. Once I invested in the characters, I thought the story was terrific, and Nicole was the most entertaining. Some scenes that made it memorable were when Nicole sees Kent again, Nicole’s story that reflects her reality, and even her moments with Hawk.
However, I felt the author strayed the story towards the climax. I felt the story went off tangent where we have multiple things happening that did not connect the way I anticipated. Moreover, I had mixed feelings about positively labeling a kleptomaniac as the right way to set up the plot.
Other than that, the story is delightful to read. It is one of those books that will surprise you because of the zany way in which the author executes the plot. Overall, I enjoyed “Other People’s Things” and found it very entertaining!
