From New York Times, bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries comes a sparkling new series about an oft-widowed mother’s grown children, who blaze through society in their quest for the truth about their fathers . . . and in the process find that love might conquer all . . .
A series of stepfathers and a difficult childhood have left Fletcher “Grey” Pryde, 5th Duke of Greycourt, with a guarded heart, enviable wealth, and the undeserved reputation of a rogue. Grey’s focus on expanding his dukedom allows him little time to find a wife. But when his mother becomes a widow yet again, he meets the charmingly unconventional woman managing his stepfather’s funeral. He’s shocked to discover how much they have in common. Still, Grey isn’t interested in love, no matter how pretty or delightfully outspoken the lady.
Beatrice Wolfe gave up on romance long ago. And the arrogant Duke of Greycourt, with his rakish reputation, isn’t exactly changing her mind. Then Grey agrees to assist his grief-stricken mother with her latest “project.” A schooling spirited, unfashionable Beatrice for her debut. Now that Beatrice sees through Grey’s charms to his wounded heart, she’s having trouble keeping him at arm’s length. But once Grey starts digging into her family’s secrets, she must decide whether her loyalties lie with her family . . . or with the man whose lessons capture her heart . . .

Project Duchess Review:
“Project Duchess” is the first book in the Duke Dynasty series, and I enjoyed it.
Firstly, I loved the way the author wrote most of the characters. My favorite character was Beatrice, and I loved the conflicting feels she has over Grey while protecting Joshua. Similarly, Grey wants to help Sheridan with the murder case but cannot help falling for Beatrice in the process. Some of my favorite scenes in the story are when Grey dances with Beatrice to help her train for her coming-out party or when Joshua catches Grey and Beatrice. Similarly, Sheridan is a charming character, and I liked his conversations with Grey. However, my favorite couple in the book was Gwyn and Joshua. I loved Joshua and Gwyn, even if they only make a brief appearance in the story together. Gwyn is bubbling and charming, whereas Joshua is the brooding bad boy with a complex personality.
However, there were moments where I felt the author could have polished the romance. While I enjoyed the chemistry between Grey and Beatrice, I felt like their feelings for each other drastically changed at times. For instance, Bea would be angry at Grey for suspecting her and Joshua, but they would passionately make out the next moment. The murder mystery behind what happened to Uncle Armie felt rushed at the very end.
I enjoyed Grey as a character and was intrigued with his backstory. I loved his scenes with his mother and his relationship with Vanessa. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story and thought it was an entertaining start to the “Duke Dynasty” series. I am excited over the next book because it would focus on my favorite characters from this book, Gwyn and Joshua.
