Cecilia Lyons escapes her sordid past by moving to Orlando and reinventing herself. Staying clean is challenging enough, but she’s challenged further when she catches the eye of the sexiest deejay in Orlando. Desperately, she wants to tell Brock her secret, but telling him would taint his view of her.
However, it’s been years since she’s had a healthy relationship, and the more time she spends with Brock, the harder she falls for him. To protect her heart, she keeps her secret.
Brock Sullivan trusts very few people. Abandoned by his mother and tragically losing his first love, he puts little faith in women. Hence, when he meets Cecilia, he is unprepared for their overwhelming attraction. Not only is she a habit he doesn’t want to break, being with her forces him to rethink his beliefs.
Even when he learns the worst about Cecilia, he can’t stay away. But when push comes to shove, will Brock be able to keep her safe?
About the Author:
Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. Also, she once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Moreover, some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. Also, when she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.

Relentless Habit Review:
I liked the story and it turned out to be fun and exciting!
I really liked Brock and Cecelia’s relationship. They have a great chemistry, and they reminded me of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere from Pretty Woman. Surprisingly, I liked Brock more than anyone. In the beginning, I really didn’t like him as he came across as haughty, arrogant and self-righteous. Although he was still all these things throughout the story, I opened up to him as he grew on me. Also, I liked how he protects Cecelia and wants to be in a relationship, even if Cecelia had her doubts.
Similarly, I also liked Cecelia. She leads a volatile life, and I liked how she tries to improve herself. Moreover, she has a history of drug abuse and addition, and I liked how Brock tries to regain her confidence. Similarly, I also liked the supporting characters like Gabe and Warren and thought they added well to the plot. On a side note, the steamy scenes between Brock and Cecelia just made the story hot and exciting.
Having said that, the author makes a few references to the previous Riot MC series. As I have not read the series prior to this book, it was a tad challenging to grasp some of the references. I would have loved this story had I read the series. Also, while I loved how the story shifts focus between the point of view of the two characters, I wish they split it into different chapters. As a speed reader, I missed the shift at times, and got lost as to who’s point of view I was on.
But, overall, this was a nice start to the series and I like to see how it continues.
