From their first accidental meeting on an Edinburgh bridge, markedly both of their lives are destined to change.

Siren Song (Harrison Jones and Amy Bell Mystery Book 1) Review:
Siren Song was a gripping read and I was immediately hooked to the story from page one.
The author did a wonderful job with the characters, pacing, and the plot. Harrison is a fascinating character and I loved reading about his unique gift. Moreover, Harrison and Amy form a nice duo as they investigate Lucy’s disappearance. Both of them have their own ways of handling the case, where Harrison uses his psychic skills and Amy uses her tech savvy and interrogation skills. I found Lucy’s story-line also interesting and how she gets involved with Tim and Kostas. Similarly, the supporting characters are also very interesting. Elizabeth, Ricky, Quentin, Tim, and Kostas all add something new to the plot.
Also, the author has a beautiful and simple way of writing that immediately draws you in the story. This story reminded me a lot of one of my favorite Stephen King novels called “The Dead Zone”, where the main character also uses his psychic abilities to help people. Some of my memorable scenes are when Harri tells Amy tries to explain his powers, and talks about ‘quantum entanglement’ and references to yoga, reiki etc. I also enjoyed the way they interrogate Nessa and go to Athens to solve the case.
However, there were some parts which I felt could have been better. For instance, I thought it was bit strange how Amy suddenly gets involved in Harrison’s life and work so quickly without ever knowing him. Also, there is a side story about Harrison helping Aziza with her thesis, which was unnecessary.
Overall, Siren Song is a great start to the series and I am looking forward to new cases for Harrison and Amy.
