Something Like Murder Review:

“Something Like Murder” is a significant step from “The Secrets of the Deadwoods,” it held my attention from start to finish.

Like the first book, this one maintains its conciseness, but it’s teeming with more action and intrigue. I appreciated the author’s attention to detail in introducing a broader cast of characters and a slew of unexpected plot twists. With multiple characters in the mix, I played detective, trying to uncover the suspects behind the Mendster murders. The final reveal left me genuinely surprised.

The introduction of Alex, a potential love interest for Denali, made this installment even more enjoyable. Typically, I’m not one for romance sidetracking the plot in these stories, but the author skillfully balances character development. Alex turned out to be a compelling addition. And the inclusion of characters like Mr. Evan Pratt and his son Will only added to the suspense.

As in the previous book, I couldn’t get enough of Da Vinci and the heartwarming bond between this lovable feline and Denali. Some scenes, like Da Vinci’s encounter with Sebastian, even made me smile.

The story’s conclusion offers a tantalizing glimpse into what the next book might hold. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment, which promises a possible foray into the realm of ghost stories.

In summary, “Something Like Murder” is a delightful, concise murder mystery tale well worth reading.
