The Accident  Review:

To begin with, I liked how the author started the book with specific timelines that led to the tragic accident. The author sets the pace well as he introduces us to the characters. How my feelings towards them changed while reading the book surprised me. Initially, I was not fond of Carl and Jo much. Then, I feel bad for Carl, Jo, and Anni. Then something else happens where you change your perspective of them again. The author does a lovely job of making you feel differently towards the cast.

Moreover, some moments intrigued me, particularly with the prison setting. Carl’s storyline was gripping in the scenes where he fears for his life, and I wondered what would happen to him. There were also some supporting characters like Brenda and Alex, who the author added nicely. Alex was a character who, albeit annoying at times, spices up the story, and I would have loved to see more of him.

Perhaps the only downside to the story is that I wished there had been more twists and turns. Once Jo and Anni crossed paths, I thought there would be more shocking revelations. However, the story gets repetitive as Jo tries to hide from Anni, and Anni does her best to befriend Jo. Also, maybe it’s just me, but I found it strange that Joel and Susan do not make an appearance throughout the tale even though they connect to the core characters.

Apart from that, I thought this was a fun thriller. It was a quick read, to be honest, and the ending did shock me because I didn’t expect that! Overall, “The Accident” is an intriguing psychological thriller.
