My nerves were on edge as I anxiously awaited their potential reunion. Surprisingly, despite Clarice’s reputation as a troublesome figure, I found myself remarkably satisfied with the resolution of her story, given the challenging circumstances. And as for Jared, I yearn for more glimpses into his world alongside Rose and their circle of friends.

Although I was initially unaware that this book was the second installment in a series, I encountered no obstacles reading it as a standalone work.
