This dangerously compromises Joe’s mission. His significant other, Mary, angry at him for accepting another CIA mission. She goes to Cuba as a tourist with her zany friend, Frances. And the pair accidentally fall into trouble in Havana. Joe then not only has to repossess the ship, he also must rescue the women before the police find them. The Navigator III: Repossession Review:
I should start reading the Joe Anderson novel series because the third book, “The Navigator III: Repossession,” was excellent!
The book is a quick read, by it is so effective. Right from the get-go, the author takes the reader on a whirlwind ride of action and adventure as Joe finds himself on Havana’s latest mission. As he goes on his mission, he meets up with other characters like Hermano and Hosea to repossess the ship. The author includes a lot of thrilling adventure moments, like when Joe needs to separate from Hosea and find the engine mechanic. The author also touches on topics like the Bay of Pigs invasion and how Castro’s regime impacted Cuba.
Similarly, I loved the romance embedded into the tale. The author writes Joe and Mary’s relationship beautifully and takes the adventure to another level when Mary decides to go to Cuba with her friend Frances. Frances was a riot, and I loved her quirkiness. She added a touch of humor to the tale, and even though she got on my nerves for how clueless she was about her surroundings, she was a memorable character. Some notable moments in the tale are when Joe meets Marsha in her apartment and fears running into Mary. I thought the author also wrote Mary nicely, as she fights with Joe for taking on a dangerous mission, yet prays for his safety. The author seamlessly blended the characters’ chemistry with the adventure, and I found the story entertaining.
Overall, “The Navigator III: Repossession” is excellent to read as a standalone and inspired me to pick up the previous books as well.
