Mary always dreamed of a perfect husband. Now she’s got one.
When Mary’s husband Brent returns from a month-long wellness retreat, he seems like a totally different person.
Before he went away, Brent was anxious, depressed, and in danger of losing his job.
Now, he’s decisive, optimistic, and full of energy. He also has big plans to start his own business … big plans which require a lot of capital.
As Mary spends more time around her husband, she begins to realise just how much he’s changed in every little way. Is the man she’s living with really the same person she married?
And who is the guy in the grey SUV who keeps following her? Does he know something sinister about her husband?
Little by little, Mary realizes Brent has been hiding a dark secret about what really happened on that wellness retreat.
And as she draws closer to the horrifying truth, she finds herself trapped in a nightmare beyond her wildest imaginings.
The New Husband is a stunning psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

The New Husband Review:
What really caught my attention in the story is the way the two main characters, Brent and Mary, bring a whole new dimension to the tale. Mary’s situation tugged at my heartstrings. She’s dealing with her husband’s sudden, intense transformation, and it’s fascinating to see how she handles her curiosity, concern, and determination to support him. On the other hand, Brent’s got this boldness and confidence that challenges Mary to reexamine her own life and dreams.
Mary and Brent’s dynamic is also intriguing. I found myself curious about what exactly happened to Brent which made Mary question if he’s the same person. The author does a great job diving into Brent’s changed perspective and behavior due to his retreat, as well as Mary’s worries and vulnerabilities. The way the author sets the stage for their relationship to evolve and for them to grow individually is quite skillful.
Now, the story does start a bit slow, but hang in there because things get pretty interesting when Mary starts feeling like she’s being followed. Moreover, there are some unexpected deaths that take the plot in some mind-bending directions you won’t see coming. The way the chapters blend vulnerability, shared history, and romance fleshes out the characters and adds layers to their challenges – past and present.
All in all, “The New Husband” is a neat psychological thriller. It takes a bit to rev up, but once it does, it’s a rollercoaster that heads in a satisfying direction.
