Trauma to Truth is a self help book. It uses poetry and prose that documents a journey through trauma to truth. AS such, it tells a story from start to finish and how it is possible to go from recovery to starting the discovery of who you can become..

It begins with Trauma as how he  personally viewed . And it moves through the process of unpicking, un-ravelling, highlighting the highs, lows and all the emotions in between. Also, it covers anger, domestic abuse, grief, love and loss. And finally finishes with forgiveness. It is a raw and honest account of one woman’s story to share that there is in fact light at the end of the tunnel. And you do not have to  define yourself by your past.

Profoundly vulnerable, heartbreaking, inspiring and Powerful.
This is a journey of healing and hope. A visceral dive into the soul. A reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is  light always.

Trauma To Truth Review:

“Trauma to Truth” is a beautiful biography of the author’s journey from addiction, domestic abuse, grief, and loss, to forgiveness, love, and truth, and I liked how the author executed it with the poems.

It is never easy to showcase yourself as weak or damaged to society, as they will quickly judge you. My heart went out to the author as opens up about domestic abuse as a child, bullying, and getting addicted. Some passages are also difficult to read without getting teary-eyed, like the pain the author endured when addicted to prescriptions.

The book’s highlight is some of the author’s poems. Some that stood out for me were “They Said,” where she has a conversation with a man who plays with her feelings, “Tummy Ache,” where she talks to her mother about how to deal with her difficulties; and “The Mouse,” by feeling timid and hiding away from the fears.

The author does a lovely job of transitioning from the negative points to how forgiveness and other factors helped her move to the positive. There are many moments where I relate to the author in terms of being intimated by others and doubting your abilities to make decisions. Ultimately, the passages are inspiring, showing how you must be your own Prince Charming and take control of your life.

On a side note, I loved how creative she was with her analogies when she references the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland or the apple in Snow White to show how temptations could lure you in, like an addiction. But,  I applaud the author for writing about her struggles to help others facing the same to find hope.

Overall, “Trauma to Truth” is a lovely, emotional, inspirational book worth reading.

  1. Thank you so much for your brilliant review of my work. I’m very honoured. I like how you’ve interpreted the poems , as They Said was actually about a friend of mine who died from domestic abuse. I’m glad you could relate to the content. Thank you ❤️

  2. Thank you for any other excellent post. The place else could anyone get that type of information in such an ideal manner of writing?
I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the search for such info.
