WINTER FROST Review:
I love the series and how the author gets personal with the characters. Blair, the woman we thought was dead in the first book, is alive and makes Chris go through an emotional rollercoaster as he investigates what happened to her. I enjoyed the twists and turned the author added to the story and how many characters are shaken by the events. Like the first book, the author balances the action and intrigue with the family values and drama and the comedic humor of the Geezer Squad, making the story hard to put down!
Speaking of which, I loved reuniting with the Geezer Squad. I love this squad so much, and it shows that you can still lead an active, exciting life once you retire with like-minded people who share the same interests. Elliott, Francine, Ray, and the rest are adorable! Doris also holds a special place in my heart, and I loved her interactions with Chris.
The author does the suspense nicely, where you have no idea which direction the story will go. I kept guessing about Blair’s past and how Chris would handle it while he gets into a mess dealing with terrorists, explosions, and whatnot.
Mike Alger once again did a fantastic job narrating the audiobook version of the story, making it extra special.
Overall, I enjoyed “Winter Frost” just as much as “Ice” and cannot wait to see how the story continues!
