‘The Atenisti’ is a global rollercoaster ride of murder, the quest for justice, and retribution through the eyes of a conscience-driven assassin.

Travelling under numerous aliases, Ricci, a member of a secret organisation, finishes a mission in London.

Apparently followed, he escapes to Italy. Seeking to avenge the kidnap, rape and murder of a young girl, he is plunged into a battle against a worldwide paedophile ring of extraordinary extent and power.

This battle leads Ricci from Italy, through Germany, to India and beyond.

Can he take on the might of this criminal network which seems determined to eliminate him?

About the Author:

Aidan K. Morrissey, a lawyer, has lived and worked all over the world.

His time in Italy, Germany and India, all of which feature in this, his second novel, has given him a deep insight into their culture and everyday way of life.

He got inspired to write The Atenisti after reading daily newspaper accounts of horrific attacks on young Indian women and children. This, he has brought to the page, a fictional crime novel, set against the background of true and monstrous stories of abuse and depravity

The Atenisti Review:

Ricci is an impressive lead protagonist, showcasing remarkable resourcefulness and combat skills as an experienced operative. His calm and methodical approach to his work demonstrates his efficiency and deadly prowess as an assassin. The way he confronts loss for Giacomo and seeks justice in his friend’s memory is both heart-rending and empowering.

Moreover, I also enjoyed the author’s writing style. The author masterfully weaves between the past and present, adding depth to the narrative. With its globetrotting setting from London to Milan, India, and Dubai, the book takes readers on an enthralling journey. Some exciting moments that stood out were Ricci’s encounters with the knife-wielding man and the intense pursuit by three assailants. And the dramatic collision involving the black Range Rover. On a side note, I enjoyed Arjun’s introduction and look forward to seeing more of him in a possible sequel in the future.

Also, the story delves into India’s societal problems with great insight. It addresses the complex issues rooted in ingrained beliefs and behaviors. There is this discussion on the Indian court system, pending cases against crime and corruption. Besides, the challenges posed by the caste system offer a thought-provoking perspective. The accounts of the Gulabi Gang and Sumedh Singh Saini are equally compelling and made me want to research the topics further.

Similarly, the concept of the Atenisti, intertwined with Egyptology symbols, adds a fascinating layer to the narrative as they strive to combat evildoers in the book, like the Shadows. The climax is a thrilling rollercoaster of suspense, action, and adventure, delivering shocking revelations that keep readers on the edge of their seats.

In summary, “The Atenisti” is a gripping high-action spy thriller with a compelling message that deserves a place on your reading list.
